I had a question a few days ago from a subscriber and he wants to know how can we record drums with what we’ve got ,only with stock vst instruments. This is a very good question ,especially if you are just starting out in your home studio, you might not have so many sound samples or vst instruments. That doesn’t mean that you can’t record your songs with these few vst instruments! Whatever DAW you are using it has some vst instruments, which you can use them for you recordings.
I am using Cubase 5 for years now and Groove Agent One is a sample where it comes with Cubase and you can load from various kits and record drums in your projects. Maybe these samples are not so good for your recordings but believe me you can improve them and get much better results.
Also ,in this video I am going to show you how you can manage every part of your drum kit just like you are having a multiple recording from a real drum kit. What do I mean by that? You can have each drum part in a different track ,so you can edit them (eq,compressor) etc.
I hope you ‘ll find this video useful. Leave your comments below and let me know if you have any questions. Be creative!
